Presentation Instructions


Instructions for Oral Presentations

  • The presentation MUST be in electronic format. Presenters should have their presentation and biographies uploaded to the conference management system before May 30th, 2018. https://2018-wow.exordo.com
  • Please pay special attention when embedding fonts and multimedia content. Embed your fonts! This will greatly reduce the chance of formatting troubles. In PowerPoint: go to File > Options > Save. At the bottom you will see a checkbox for embed fonts, make sure it is checked! This only works for True Type and Open Type fonts; Proprietary fonts will not be embedded. Save your presentation using the specified file nomenclature as PowerPoint (.pptx).
  • Presenters please be present at the designated room 15 minutes prior to the session start time to meet the Session Chair and to check that the presentation file is showing correctly. Please also bring a copy of your presentation material with the latest version of MS Office PowerPoint on a portable medium, e.g., USB Flash Drive. Presenters will not be permitted to use their own laptops.
  • Total presentation time will be 15 minutes. Please allow 3 to 5 minutes for the Q&A and discussion after your presentation. This time schedule will be strictly enforced.
  • An Audio/Video technician will be available to answer any equipment questions and to adjust lighting and sound levels to your requirements, prior to the start of the session.
  • A technician will be available in Speaker Ready Room to help you to test your presentation if necessary.
  • The accepted paper will be considered a "No-show" paper if the authors or their representatives do not present the paper at the conference.
  • “No-show” papers will be noted as “Author unavailable for presentation” prior to submitting to IEEE for inclusion in IEEE Xplore. No-show papers will not appear on IEEE Xplore following the IEEE No-Show Policy.

Instructions for Poster Presentations

  • Poster size: Two A0 papers in portrait orientation. Dimensions: 1189 x 1682mm (Height x Width (mm).
  • Please use our "Poster Template" to meet formatting requirements.
  • At least one person among the authors or their representatives should be presented in front of the poster during the poster session. If there is no presenter, the paper is considered a “No-show" paper.
  • “No-show” papers will be noted as “Author unavailable for presentation” prior to submitting to IEEE for inclusion in IEEE Xplore. No-show papers will not appear on IEEE Xplore following the IEEE No-Show Policy.

 

 

Final Paper (The camera-ready copy) Specifications

Use our Templates to meet formatting requirements below. Your paper must comply with the following specifications:

  • Paper Length: 5-6 pages, including figures, tables & references
  • Paper Size: US Letter (8.5" x 11")
  • Do NOT page number your paper
  • Please use the IEEE pdf express to check that your final paper is IEEE format compliant.
  • To get the correct pdf file please follow the steps:

    • Open the website http://www.pdf-express.org and create a New User
      (If you already have used this system before skip this step.)
    • Login with the conference ID 42711X and your own account.
    • Create New Title for your final paper. The title should be your paper title.
    • Upload the WORD file to be converted (Recommended), or upload the pdf file to be checked.
      And you will get the PDF file in your email or download from the website.
  • Allowed File Size: 3.0Mb
  • Do NOT apply security settings to your PDF file.
  • Upload your Word file and converted PDF file in Submission System

NOTE:

  • Deviations from the above paper specifications could impede the review of your paper and result in rejection.
  • It is a requirement from IEEE that each paper submitted to 2018 WoW should go through IEEE crosscheck. Please be aware of that the similarity index of your submitted final paper.
  • Each paper must be associated with at least one conference registration at either IEEE member or non-student rates.

Submission

  • ALL submissions must be made on-line from this web site.
  • Email submissions will NOT be accepted.
  • If you are making multiple submissions, you only need to create one web account. Use the same account (User name & Password) for any additional submissions.
  • If you need to edit any author information or resubmit your paper, it may be done up until the submission deadline.

Digest Format

Use our "Digest Template" to meet formatting requirements below. Your paper must comply with the following specifications:

  • Paper Length: 5-6 pages, including figures, tables & references
  • Paper Size: US Letter (8.5" x 11") or A4 (210mm X 297mm)Fonts: Minimum 10 point font (12 point preferred). Avoid the use of Type 3 fonts.
  • File Format: Adobe PDF (.pdf)
  • Allowed File Size: 3.0Mb
  • Do NOT page number your paper
  • Do NOT apply security settings to your PDF file.
  • The digest should not be a cropped version of the full paper.
  • Note: Deviations from the above paper specifications could impede the review of your paper and result in rejection.
